Dexter Launches Endpoint Verification for ERC-8004, Activating the First Phase of Its Reputation System
Automated Verification Goes Live Across the Dexter Marketplace
JANUARY 2026 — Dexter today announced the launch of Endpoint Verification, the first live component of its reputation system built for ERC-8004, an emerging standard focused on agent identity, capability signaling, and trust primitives.
Endpoint Verification now runs automatically across the Dexter Marketplace, validating endpoints in real time and establishing baseline reliability standards without requiring action from vendors during this initial phase.
Paid Verification Runs, Fully Subsidized by Dexter
These verification runs are paid tests designed to measure endpoint availability and integrity under real usage conditions. For the foreseeable future, all verification costs are fully subsidized by Dexter, with optional vendor-funded checks planned for later stages of the reputation system.
The first paid verification runs are now live.
Reputation Infrastructure for Agent-Native Commerce
This release advances Dexter’s vision of a reputation-driven, agent-native marketplace, where autonomous agents can confidently discover and transact with services programmatically. Endpoint Verification integrates directly with Dexter’s x402 payment infrastructure, powered by its public x402 facilitator, enabling HTTP 402–based settlement flows that can be monitored via x402scan.
Built to Align with the ERC-8004 Standard
Dexter’s reputation framework is designed to align with the ERC-8004 specification, published through Ethereum’s official standards process and maintained in the public Ethereum repository. Additional context on Ethereum protocol standards and agent-ready infrastructure can be found through Ethereum’s standards and developer resources.
Looking Ahead
As agent commerce and autonomous services continue to expand across Web3, Dexter is building the trust and verification layer required to support reliable, scalable, and interoperable marketplaces.
