Dexter Launches Dexter V2 to Power Modern, Agent-Native Commerce

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 2025 — Dexter has announced the launch of Dexter V2, a free, public x402 v1 and v2 facilitator built to support the next generation of agent-native commerce on the web. Dexter V2 is live now and available to developers and merchants across Solana, Base, and additional networks. x402 is the web-native payment protocol that enables programmatic payments using HTTP 402, allowing software agents to pay for APIs, data, and services with stablecoins. Dexter V2 brings the full capabilities of x402 v2 into production with features designed for real-world scale, performance, and flexibility.

What’s New in Dexter V2

Dexter V2 introduces a modern x402 implementation built around three core capabilities:

  1. Multi-chain by default
  • A standardized payment format makes it easy to support multiple blockchains while enabling advanced routing, revenue splits, and future extensibility.
  1. Sessions and reusable access
  • Pay-once, use-many patterns such as time-based access, bundles, quotas, and subscriptions reduce latency and unlock web-native experiences for agents.
  1. Extensions and service metadata (Bazaar)
  • Optional extensions and machine-readable paid API metadata improve service discovery, integration speed, and agent compatibility.

Together, these capabilities allow developers to move beyond single-request payments and build services that feel persistent, efficient, and programmable.

Built-In Support for Dynamic Pricing

Dexter V2 enables dynamic, request-time pricing as a native part of the x402 v2 flow. Instead of relying on fixed price lists, services can return live pricing in response to an agent request. Prices can reflect real-time conditions such as demand, capacity, timing, or usage within a session. Agents can evaluate the price, decide whether to proceed, and complete payment in a single seamless exchange. This model allows merchants to offer more flexible and expressive pricing while giving agents the ability to reason about cost as part of normal decision-making. Dynamic pricing works alongside sessions and reusable access, making it possible to support adaptive subscriptions, usage-based bundles, and context-aware services that were not feasible with earlier x402 implementations.

Free, Public, and Built for Builders

Dexter V2 is available as a free public facilitator with zero fees, no token required, and high limits designed for real usage. The platform is optimized for Solana’s speed and low latency while remaining compatible with Base and additional networks as support expands. “Our goal with Dexter V2 is to make agent payments feel as natural and flexible as the web itself,” said the Dexter team. “x402 v2 lets pricing, access, and payments adapt dynamically to how agents actually operate.”

Designed for Agent Commerce

Dexter V2 is more than a payments endpoint. It serves as the foundation of an agent commerce stack where agents can discover paid services through standardized metadata, merchants can onboard quickly, and longer-lived agent behaviors are enabled through sessions and dynamic pricing. Dexter agents route payments through the facilitator by default, helping surface new services and drive meaningful usage from day one.

Live Now

Dexter V2 is live today with verified x402 v1 and v2 flows on Solana and Base using USDC, production-ready observability and rate-limit controls, quickstart documentation with working examples, and a public status channel and incident response process. Developers can begin integrating immediately using a single endpoint and copy-and-paste examples.

About Dexter

Dexter is building infrastructure for agent-native commerce on the web. By combining x402 payments, reusable access patterns, dynamic pricing, and an open extension ecosystem, Dexter enables software agents to discover, pay for, and use services as naturally as humans browse the internet.
